Love is the Calling
Today on summer solstice 2025, the whole teachings of Samkya Philosophy came clear to me. I realized once again that all of creation is manifested out of the unconditional bucket of love of Source consciousness. In Samkya the core principal is called purusha, an ever shining light. When the light of purusha hits prakriti with its three gunas: sattva, rajas and tamas, the gunas start churning and the creation of samsara, manifested 3-d comes into play – our everyday leela.
My experience went far beyond any sense of self. It was like I was looking back at my body from purusha itself, without any sense of an identity, not even as soul. I was the creation of this person, but also of that person, while none was personal. It was visceral. (Maybe in that moment some astronomical shift happened that hit my consciousness, I don’t know. I was just the happy recipient of no “I” for a moment.)
But coming back to purusha as the love light principle. It is mere love that pulls us – at least me – forward into motion. It is love that calls me into action, that propels me forward to serve, to speak up, to stand up for integrity and upliftment of my sisters and brothers. I am convinced it is love that creates my existence and my whole life existence. When this is so, then any suffering is created from love, so we can choose what not fits us and turn towards compassion, forgiveness and gratitude.
And as love pulls us forward into motion, the three gunas turn. There is no real preference of being only sattvic (and yet on the path we have to focus on it for a while to purify our emotions, our body and our tendencies), but eventually there is peace between all gunas. They cooperate in harmony with each other. Once we have made peace with our shadow and have placed it into its respective place, under surveillance of higher order of unconditional love and service.
I find returning to devotion when in doubt – that means when anger, fear of overwhelm arise – is a shortcut to inner harmony. Then the body might be in pain, or we rotate like crazy to get lots done, but deep within there is serenity, joy and humor about the tragedy of daily life.
May the light of the sun bless your existence. May you remember love in all ways and always.
